| I am writing this instead of reading a play. The Way of the World to be exact. One of those great pieces of theatre written during the restoration period. I am pretty sure Doody made us read it in script analysis class but I can’t remember it so I guess it’s greatness wasn’t very great at all. If anything it wasn’t good enough to keep me reading it. So, what have I been doing. Well, if you want to see some production photos of stuff you are able to. Just go to www.Regent.edu, click on site map, click on school of communication and the arts, click on theatre arts, click on theatre season, click on past productions, and then you can choose Ten Little Indians, Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, Guys and Dolls, One Act Play, or The Foreigner. All plays I have been in here. After you choose one of those you click on production photos. If you want to see a lot of me make sure you do the Foreigner photos. As for right now I just got done being Dr. Purgon in Moliere’s Imaginary Invalid. A really small part but I pretty much dressed up like a vampire so it was cool. As we speak I am in the rehearsal process for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. I am ensemble and I can count my lines on one hand but its alright. I get to pretend to dance so that’s something I guess. Two weeks ago my school hosted the third annual Virginia Beach Bash. This is a two day stage combat work shop where fight masters and teachers from across the country come and teach classes. Stage combat classes like rapier and dagger, sword and shield, various unarmed stuff, whip, rapier and cloak, small sword, etc. Two days of stage combat fighting fun. I did that and was part of the staff being what they call a journeyman or in the common language, a gopher. Yeah, so, if anything I am sure going to be efficient in stage combat once I am done here. It’s something for the resume and I enjoy it. Other than that classes are the hip thing to do. The only one I think I am growing in though is my period and styles class. The entire course is divided into three sections. Greek, Commedia dell'arte, and Restoration Comedy. All three styles are very different so each time we switch gears it's a whole new experience. I thought doing Scapino was commedia dell'arte but really that was just scratching the surface. Good class. And the other thing going on in my life that is none school related is that I am slowly forming a Ultimate Frisbee Society. This society meets on friday afternoons and enjoys the game of ultimate frisbee in the bask of the Virginian sun. Members are minimal but we are gaining steam. This week should be great for us beacause the school is shut down for Good Friday. What could be better than remembering Jesus' sacrifice with a plastic disc and friends? I am expecting many new members. And that is about it. In a somewhat nutshell. So, in conclusion, I am doing plays, I am doing school, I like my period and styles class, I just got done doing the Virginia Beach Bash, I like stage combat, I am a founding member of the Regent Ultimate Frisbee Society, and I am fine. Stay tuned as more develops.
P.S. I am boycotting the Andy Milonakis Show. He is a thirty year old man and not some young kid just goofing around on his very own tv show. Knowing that he is an old guy sitting down and actually thinking about his different zany skits just makes his show less funny if funny at all. Let alone the fact that I now feel officially duped.
